This practice helps you break out of auto-pilot, steady your mind and ground to the present moment. In doing this you widen the space between stimulus and response giving yourself the chance to reconnect to what matters. You can also take this deeper to work with difficult emotions. Find where the emotion is arising in your body and when you get to the expand part, bring awareness to that area,
